Stay at Home Book Tag

Not sure who created this tag. A lot of people have done it over the past 2 months but I took it from ForBooksSake.

Laying In Bed: A Book You Read In A Day

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It’s a very short book, barely 200 pages and a popular one for school study. I enjoyed it but I wasn’t in love with it. It’s an interesting story but I didn’t find any of the characters particularly likable.

Snacking: A Guilty Pleasure Read

Romancing the Duke (Castles Ever After #1) by Tessa Dare. This is such a sweet story that manages to be pretty steamy in places too. One of my absolute favourite historical romances.

Netflix: A Series You Want To Start

The Selections Series by Kiera Cass. I’ve heard so many great things about this series! I was always put off from reading it because it’s meant to be a bit like The Bachelor which sounds stupid to me. I just don’t get those types of shows…

Deep Clean: A Book That’s Been On Your TBR Forever

Once Burned (Night Prince #1) by Jeaniene Frost. I got this book way back in 2013 but then realised I needed to read her Night Huntress series first. I started Night Huntress but only as far as book 3. I did enjoy those books but got a bit sick of Cat’s character.

Animal Crossing: A Book You Bought Because Of The Hype

The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry. I actually started reading it and thought meh. Got about 60 pages in and then parted ways with the book.

Productivity: A Book You Learned From Or Had An Impact On You

Vagina: A Re-Education by Lynn Enright. Absolutely fascinating book!

FaceTime: A Book You Were Gifted

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Illustrated Edition. My husband gets me these as soon as one of them is released. I love them so much and him too. He’s pretty awesome.

Self Care: One Thing You’ve Done Recently To Look After Yourself

Coating myself in aloe vera after being outside in the sun and wearing plenty of SPF 50 while in the sun so I don’t end up like Ted up there. As a pasty pale Irish redhead I have been burned many many times and I do not like it. I’m trying to get better at topping up my sunscreen every hour instead of every three hours.

Bonus: An Upcoming Release You’re Looking Forward To

Emerald Blaze (Hidden Legacy #5) by Ilona Andrews. Due for release August 25 2020. I am so excited for this freaking book!! I think I will reread book 4 before it comes out for a refresher.

  1. Ohhh! I liked to do this tag! It seems cozy!
I recently read the first book to The Selection and enjoyed it. It’s definitely what you’d consider a guilty pleasure read!

  2. I hear you on the sunscreen….. I’m of Irish descent, so I sunburn after a whole 20 minutes of being outside. I usually stay inside during the day and venture out toward sunset. Otherwise, it’s SPF 50 and cross my fingers that I remember to reapply in time.

And I am suddenly reminded of when I visited Ireland a few years ago, and got sunburned on the ferry back from the Aran Islands…..

    1. I’ve never been to the Aran islands. It might be a nice idea for a staycation this year if they are allowing visitors. I know most of the small islands closed themselves off cause the virus would devastate their communities.
