Synopsis: This holiday, spend quality time with family and loved ones—living and dead . . .
There’s no place like home for the horrordays—unless you’d prefer a romantic midnight walk through a ghost-infested graveyard . . . or a haunted house candlelight dinner with the sexy vampire of your dreams. The (black) magical season is here—and whether it’s a solstice séance gone demonically wrong with the incomparable Kim Harrison, a grossly misshapen Christmas with the remarkable Lynsay Sands, a blood-chilling-and-spilling New Year’s with the wonderful Marjorie M. Liu, or a super-powered Thanksgiving with the phenomenal Vicki Pettersson, one thing is for certain: in the able hands of these exceptional dark side explorers, the holidays are going to be deliciously hellish!

Quote
“Arms wrapped around me, I looked over the past boxed up and piled haphazardly about, like memories in a person’s brain. It was only a matter of knowing where a thought was and dusting it off.”
Kim Harrison, Two Ghosts for Sister Rachel (Holidays are Hell)
My Rating: ★★★☆☆
My Review:
Two Ghosts for Sister Rachel by Kim Harrison – I’m not sure how well this would be received by people who haven’t read the main series but I quite enjoyed it. I liked seeing what Rachel’s relationship with her mother and brother was like before she became a runner. For people who haven’t read the series, it would probably be a fun little story about ghosts and vampires.
Run Run Rudolph by Lynsay Sands – My god, no! What the hell is this story? Some kind of contemporary science fiction romance about shapeshifting…during a Christmas parade. It was just ridiculous!
Six by Marjorie M. Liu – This is a pretty good story about vampirism and an elite soldier. It was a little confusing at the beginning but found itself pretty quickly. A nice story that develops the characters really well for a short story.
The Harvest by Vicki Pettersson – I think there’s a good story in here but it ended up being a bit of a slog to read through. There was a bit too much world building for the format.
