My Life in Books Tag

I’m not sure who created this tag but I found it on Witty and Sarcastic Bookclub. I’ve seen this tag around many times before and was certain I’d already done it but I guess not…

Find a book for each of your initials:

E – An Easy Death by Charlaine Harris

H – A Hidden Fire by Elizabeth Hunter

I have yet to read An Easy Death but A Hidden Fire by Elizabeth Hunter is really good. It’s kind of like A Discovery of Witches but leans much closer to usual urban fantasy.

Count your age along your bookshelf: What book do you land on?

Sons and Lovers by D.H. Lawrence

Another one I have yet to read. I like how Lawrence is a bit shocking and darker than what you may expect from books from his time period.

A book set in your city/country-

The Glorious Heresies by Lisa McInerney

This book is set in Cork which is my current city in Ireland (I will be moving later this year). It’s about murder, drugs and prostitutes which is a side of Cork I have not seen!

A book that represents a destination that you’d love to travel to-

I can only think of Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert for this one cause I would love to go to Rome and eat ALL the food. I’m not sure how accurate a representation this book is of the area but it’s the only one I could think of.

A book that’s your favorite colour-

I don’t have a favourite but I do have a most hated colour and that is yellow.

The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle

As this book was released in the 60’s, it has many covers but my edition has a completely yellow cover with a very nice font and illustration of a unicorn. It would be a perfectly lovely cover if it weren’t a rotten yellow colour.

Which book do you have the fondest memories of?

Falling for a Dancer by Deirdre Purcell

This book is my comfort reading go to. I’ve read it about five times now. My last reread was in January 2020 but I feel another one coming on soon. The vintage themes and rustic setting just speak to me and make me feel right at home.

Which book did you have the most difficulty reading?

If I’m having a hard time reading a book I will just stop. Time for reading is in short supply so I’m not wasting it on a book I don’t want to read.

Which book on your tbr will give you the most satisfaction to finish?

Middlemarch by George Elliot

It’s a big book that I keep putting off because of it’s size but I have a strong feeling it’s a book I will enjoy.

Where to Find Me

Success! You're on the list.
