Ok, so I moved house this summer and that has been taking up pretty much all of my time. So much packing, unpacking, setting up, building furniture, etc., etc. Needless to say, I did not read much over the last few months but let me tell you about the little bit of reading I did do.

From Blood and Ash (Blood and Ash #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Ok, so I’ve read a few first-in-a-series books from this author now and I’m beginning to sense a few recurring themes in her novels. It’s a little bit boring to see the same things over and over again. Having said that her books are really good overall.
I quite like the high fantasy take on creatures typically found in urban fantasy with the Blood and Ash series. I know it’s been done before but I quite like how Armentrout does it.

A Touch of Darkness (Hades & Persephone #1) by Scarlett St. Clair
Oh, man, I have totally fallen in love with this book! It’s a fantastic modern retelling of the Greek gods, specifically the relationship between Persephone and Hades. It is so freaking beautiful!

Flamecursed (Flamecursed Chronicles #0.5) by Camille Longley
I had high hopes for this one but I’m feeling like maybe short stories aren’t this authors strong suit. At least not yet. The story felt a bit choppy and like it was trying to be something much bigger.

These next three books are what I’m currently reading so my review and rating will be based on what I’ve read so far.

Priest (Priest #1) by Sierra Simone
Holy cow!!! I’m about a third of the way into this and I already know it’s going to be one I read over and over again.

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire (Blood and Ash #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I’m very early into this book still so don’t really have any feelings on it just yet.

Intuitive Eating by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch
Oh, my god, this book is everything I needed. I am sick to death of diet culture and just want to remove myself from the race and live my life. There’s no point in worrying about some food making me fat when I’m already fat anyway!
