The Pride and Prejudice Book Tag

I discovered this tag on the creators page. I’ve never done that before!

I love all things Prude and Prejudice so I just had to do this tag when I spotted it.

A few little pleasantries:

  • Thank those who tagged you.
  • Link back to the creator of the tag (Emma @TurnAnotherPage)
  • Tag as many people as you want
  • Have fun!!

The Bennet Sisters: A Mixed Bag
A book or series with an eclectic cast of characters

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams has the most eclectic cast of characters I have ever read. Each character varies massively in personality, goals, and behaviour. It makes for a very entertaining and surprising read.

Charlotte Lucas: The Best Friend
A dependable book/series, tv show or film you can always turn to

I think this question implies a Gilmore Girls style show (which is pretty dependable) but my go-to rewatchable TV show is Battlestar Gallactica. It’s nobodies best friend but it’s a fracking awesome show!! I’ve watched it about 4 times now I think.

Mr Darcy: The Unexpected Surprise
A book or series that you didn’t originally like but grew to love.

Night Huntress by Jeaniene Frost and The Hollows by Kim Harrison. Night Huntress I still have moments of not liking it so much but The Hollows I absolutely LOVE! They’re both urban fantasy series with a female lead that something… extra going on.

Lady Catherine de Bourg: The Intimidating Aristocrat
A book or series that intimidates you

I am always intimated by large classics. I expect them to be depressing and have long winded sections of nonsense so I put them off. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens is one of these. I have the book sitting on my shelf for a while now.

Mr Bingley: Honest Yet Easily Led
A character you think deserves a lot of love

They all deserve a bit of love….except the baddies…

Mr Collins: Awkward and a little socially inept.
What hyped or popular book/series have you not yet read?

Many of them! I have been disappointed by hyped books so often that I now avoid anything that gets a lot of hype. The hype is usually from well-thought out advertising anyway. I have started A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas and keep meaning to continue it. I enjoyed the first book well enough but I hear it gets better.

The Gardiners: Steady Voices of Reason
A character from any book, film, or tv series that you would turn to for advice

Dumbledore! Who else would you ever turn to?!

Mr Wickham: The Deceiver
A book that did not reach your expectations

There are a god few books I could mention here. Pretty much any of the books I rated below 3 stars on Goodreads would work and I don’t like talking shit about books so we’ll just leave this question alone.

Georgiana Darcy: Shy and Naive but Friendly
An under-hyped or represented book that you really love

I would like to suggest reading The Bone Witch by Ivy Asher. She’s not exactly unknown but I don’t know many people familiar with her books.

Colonel Foster’s Regiment: Sure to liven up any party!
What book or series would you always recommend?

The Cassie Palmer series by Karen Chance is my go-to series though I haven’t read the latest two releases yet. Bad fan award to me 😦

  1. Oh my word, thank you so much! I loved making this tag so I’m really glad you enjoyed it too. As much as I love reading classics when I do, the lengthier ones akin to Dickens intimidate me too. I have quite a few of his on my shelves and I keep putting them off because they’re so long!

  2. Alright, this is just too good, I’ll have to try it! I love your responses! Definitely going to have to check out ‘The Bone Witch’! And if you’re a fan of Battlestar Galactica.. Have you seen Caprica?

      1. I think I only managed to catch it at the perfect timing and it was probably on Amazon Prime at the time but I haven’t been able to find it again since. It’s really interesting!
Btw, you have seriously killer taste in books! 😋
