Happy Spring! I cannot tell you how happy I am to see the change in the weather. While it is nice to get wrapped up cosy with a book on a wintery evening I much prefer reading in the sunshine. There have been a few days already this March where I was able to lounge in the sun by a window. It’s still chilly out but it’s nice and warm in the sunshine.
I didn’t read much this winter but what I did read I very much enjoyed. Mostly darker books but one summery read made its way into my reading around Christmas.

Beach Read by Emily Henry
Beautiful. I just loved this! It was a perfect balance of fun and seriousness wrapped up in a realistic love story.

The Final Girls Support Group by Grady Hendrix
Interesting premise and it was fun to figure out what movies the characters were based on but it ultimately fell a little flat. At times I found it a bit boring but slashers aren’t really my thing so…

Kingdom of the Cursed by Kerri Maniscalco
Fantastic! I can now see why people are such fans of Maniscalco. I wasn’t sure about her after the first book cause it was just a little bit too YA for me but this one felt more adult.

The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix
I originally gave this book 3 stars but the more I think about it the more I feel it deserves another one. What put me off was the lack of vampire-ness but what I really like about it is how these women are portrayed. It could do with more vampiric horror-action but it’s a very interesting portrayal of these characters.

Munro by Kresley Cole
Kresley Cole proves yet again that she is the queen of paranormal romance. It’s wonderful to dip back into this world after such a long break.
