I’ve gotten my hands on quite a few ebooks recently so I decided to break up my haul into a few parts. This week I’m sharing some of the DRCs I received from NetGalley and two purchases. The DRCs may be archived by now but pre-order links will be available.

DRC from NetGalley. I’ve actually read this already cause I was so freaking excited to get my hands on it! My full review will be up soon but let me tell you now, this book was wonderful. Better than Beach Read.
Book Lovers by Emily Henry
One summer. Two rivals. A plot twist they didn’t see coming…
Nora Stephens’ life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby.
Which is why she agrees to go to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina for the month of August when Libby begs her for a sisters’ trip away—with visions of a small town transformation for Nora, who she’s convinced needs to become the heroine in her own story. But instead of picnics in meadows, or run-ins with a handsome country doctor or bulging-forearmed bartender, Nora keeps bumping into Charlie Lastra, a bookish brooding editor from back in the city. It would be a meet-cute if not for the fact that they’ve met many times and it’s never been cute.
If Nora knows she’s not an ideal heroine, Charlie knows he’s nobody’s hero, but as they are thrown together again and again—in a series of coincidences no editor worth their salt would allow—what they discover might just unravel the carefully crafted stories they’ve written about themselves.
DRC from NetGalley. I read this years ago but never reviewed it. I figured I might as well get the DRC when I spotted it and right that wrong. It’s been a few years since I read anything from the series so this will be a nice refresher.
Dark Lover by J.R. Ward
In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there’s a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There also exists a secret band of brothers like no other – six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Among them, none relishes killing their enemies more than Wrath, the leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood…
The only pure-bred vampire left on the planet, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But when one of his most trusted fighters is killed – orphaning a half-breed daughter unaware of her heritage or her fate – Wrath must usher the beautiful female into the world of the undead…
Racked by a restlessness in her body that wasn’t there before, Beth Randall is helpless against the dangerously sexy man who comes to her at night with shadows in his eyes. His tales of brotherhood and blood frighten her. But his touch ignites a dawning hunger that threatens to consume them both…
Free ebook. I’m not sure how I came across this but it was free so I figured I might as well get it. I more than likely came across it on the Romance Books subreddit cause that’s where most of my books come from nowadays. I swear to god, nothing has filled my TBR like that subreddit. I believe this book is meant to be a bit darker than most fantasy romances.
Fortune Favors the Cruel by Kel Carpenter
Quinn Darkova, freed from the chains of slavery, wants nothing more than vengeance against those who sold her. But with her dark powers on the rise and her ascension nearing, Quinn’s blood retribution will have to wait in favor of her immediate survival.
Lazarus Fierté is a nobleman without equal. He’s as controlling as he is stubborn, and for the last six years he’s been waiting for a woman to appear—but not just any woman. A Maji of great power, capable of terrible things. She could be the key to everything he holds dear.
His savior … or his destroyer.
The only thing he didn’t predict was that she would become both.
I was itching to jump into The War of Two Queens but I skimmed a review that mentioned it would be better to read this one first. I’m not complaining. I freaking love Armentrout’s writing so another book to read is a good thing 😊
A Shadow in the Ember by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Born shrouded in the veil of the Primals, a Maiden as the Fates promised, Seraphena Mierel’s future has never been hers. Chosen before birth to uphold the desperate deal her ancestor struck to save his people, Sera must leave behind her life and offer herself to the Primal of Death as his Consort.
However, Sera’s real destiny is the most closely guarded secret in all of Lasania—she’s not the well protected Maiden but an assassin with one mission—one target. Make the Primal of Death fall in love, become his weakness, and then…end him. If she fails, she dooms her kingdom to a slow demise at the hands of the Rot.
Sera has always known what she is. Chosen. Consort. Assassin. Weapon. A specter never fully formed yet drenched in blood. A monster. Until him. Until the Primal of Death’s unexpected words and deeds chase away the darkness gathering inside her. And his seductive touch ignites a passion she’s never allowed herself to feel and cannot feel for him. But Sera has never had a choice. Either way, her life is forfeit—it always has been, as she has been forever touched by Life and Death.
DRC from NetGalley. I got a little confused when I came across this on NetGalley cause I swore I had read this on Frost’s website two years ago. Turns out I read about 5 chapters of this on her website and then she decided to release the whole book. I’m so glad she did! I’ve actually finished (devoured more like) this as well and my full review will be up soon.

DRC from NetGalley. Part two of a YA fantasy duology with a very heavy love triangle. I love it when I get my hands on a DRC for a series I’m really into.
These Twisted Bonds by Lexi Ryan
In this thrilling conclusion to These Hollow Vows—the sexy, action-packed fantasy by New York Times best-selling author Lexi Ryan that started it all—Brie finds herself caught between two princes and two destinies while the future of the fae realm hangs in the balance.
